Laizhou STR Red Wine Cask Single Malt Whisky | 崃州STR红酒桶单一麦芽威士忌

"STR" is the essence of this whisky. This expression presents a unique and balanced flavour structure: distinct fruitiness, delicate smokiness, and the complex woody notes imparted by the STR casks all intermingle harmoniously.

Color: Deep amber.
Aroma: The dominant aromas are sweet plum and vanilla. Surprisingly, the smokiness is presented in a remarkably subtle manner rather than being overpowering. This is accompanied by complex notes of candied orange peel, red wine-macerated berries, and roasted almonds.
Palate: On the palate, the plum note continues but shifts towards a drier style, reminiscent of sherry cask influence. The smokiness also emerges, leaning more towards a woody smokiness rather than an ashy character, creating a dualistic balance between fruit and smoke. The body is full, with flavours of crème brûlée and dark fruits. The STR process imparts a silky-smooth texture to the tannins.
Finish: The finish is medium-long and complex, intertwining spices, clean wood notes, and a hint of dark chocolate and nuts
